What if Facebook Required the COVID-19 Vaccine?
How COVID-19 Vaccine Passports Threaten to Create a New Class of Citizens
Last month after renewing my driver’s license in the State of Illinois, the letter I received in the mail with my new license on it had a letterhead to join the state’s Emergency Contact Database Registry - Life Goes On. The call to action reads as follows:
The Emergency Contact Database is a free program offered by the Secretary of State. Any person with an Illinois Driver’s License and/or Identification Card can register two contacts for law enforcement to use in the case of an emergency. This is a voluntary program, and you are not required to enroll but are encouraged to participate.
My initial reaction was one of acceptance. “Oh cool,” I thought. “I will do that. What’s the harm?” But then I wondered, is there anything nefarious about this? Can or will the state do something with the info I provide that is not declared?
In this instance, there is not likely any practical threat or concern or unintended consequence to registering, and so I probably will. But imagine if the letter indicated that this was required and that consequences would ensue if I failed to register. Would that trigger my spidey-senses to speculate that there is something nefarious going on?
Now, let’s apply this same scenario, but with a vaccine that was rapidly developed in response to a virus whose origins are controversial and which has been weaponized by politicians, governments, and the elusive elite class of ideologues who have clearly demonstrated their thirst and hunger for absolute power.
Do you see the problem here?
Vaccinations are nothing new for most of the developed world. As children, we have become used to getting vaccines against all manner of diseases now relegated to the history books. Other vaccines, however, have remained a matter of choice. This includes things such as vaccines against HPV and, of course, the annual flu shot.
The new vaccine for Covid-19, however, lives somewhere in the middle of vaccines we recognize as fundamental and optional add-ons for those so inclined. The concerns of those hesitant to get the vaccine range from worries over the vaccine itself (speed of development, efficacy, etc.) to objections over mandates in general.
Healthcare and Essential Workers
One such group - and one you’d think we’d all want to listen to closely regarding this - is the 40% of healthcare workers who have said they won’t take a mandated COVID vaccine. Their claims range from the scientific (many cite low mortality rates that don’t warrant this type over governmental overreach) to the personal (a government trying to enforce medical decisions for its population is rarely a good look).
Healthcare workers aren’t the only ones pushing back on vaccine mandates, either. As of August 2021, roughly 51% of the eligible population has accepted the vaccine. Given the push in various commercials and social media posts to get the vaccine, this is right in step with the annual flu shot.
To be clear, mandatory vaccines are nothing new. Most of us received vaccines as children as a part of routine healthcare checkups, and many of us have given our children their school age immunizations with little or no real concern. The same can be said of the healthcare workers now voicing objections. Healthcare workers are required to get several vaccines as a part of their employment and these never make headlines. The same can be said for the routine vaccinations (most commonly Yellow Fever and Malaria) travelers need to visit various countries.
So the issue is not one of a problem with vaccine mandates in general. The issue is with mandating this particular vaccine, especially mandates coming from the federal government.
Can you imagine Facebook’s fate if the social media lord required its users to be vaccinated? I am confident that we would see a mass exodus from the platform.
The difference is that citizens of a nation do not necessarily have much choice in their heritage and citizenry.
Stand Up Against Mandates and Passports
It is with this pretend scenario that the government needs to rethink its vaccination strategy. COVID-19 vaccine mandates and passports will only further divide the nation and create an alternate class of citizens, which would lead to economic devastation and even more unrest.
The Federal government has absolutely no business mandating the COVID-19 vaccine. This strips power from individual states and local governments and goes against the US Constitution.
Likewise, state and local governments can consider some level of vaccine mandates, but not at the cost of stripping away our rights and liberties, and certainly not with the risk of creating an alternate class of citizens.
Unfortunately, this might be the agenda for some, and another reason why you should care about what I have to say and subscribe.
Which is all the more reason that we need to band together and take a stand against these things. The less resistance we put forth then the more freedoms and liberties we lose. I could get into the details, but if you require an explanation, then you might be part of the new flock of sheep rushing the fence to comply.
